NCDO Demonstrator

Seeing culture through data, stories and people.

This is a work-in-progress demonstrator, created to show how cultural data, local stories and place-based insight can be brought together.

It is not a finished product or final view of any place. It is here to support learning, discussion and improvement. We will be adding to the service over the next few months so please do feedback.

You can find the slides from the National Cultural Data Observatory launch event here. They provide further background on the first phase of the work, what we have learnt so far, and how the demonstrator connects to the wider ambition for a shared, sector-led approach to cultural evidence.

Please contact us if you spot an issue, have a question, or want to share a local story, video, image, observation or idea.

About the Demonstrator

The NCDO is exploring how more connected cultural data could support better insight, planning, policy, investment and advocacy. Thank you to our data providers.

This demonstrator focuses on place. It shows how culture connects with geography, infrastructure, access, wellbeing and local identity.

The content and features will continue to evolve as we test, learn and refine the approach.
